About
Strategic Regranting

Please note that we currently are not offering grants.  Please keep checking.

Strategic Regranting, or mini-grants are a key element of the philosophy of the California Partnership.  Knowing our coalition is only as strong as our member organizations, we make mini-grants at least twice each year to build the capacity of our member organizations while simultaneously promoting our statewide agenda.

In each round, we choose priorities based on geography, issue focus, and other factors.  The project criteria for each granting round changes as well.  In recent years it has included voter education and registration, improving media skills, holding town hall forums, and lessons learned from voter engagement work.  Grants usually range from $2000-$6000.

The funding decisions are made by a committee made up of California Partnership staff, members of the California Partnership Coordinating Committee, and outside expert advisors.  Recent advisors have included Peter Dreier, of Occidental College, Javier Gonzalez of SEIU Local 1877 and Ellen Reese of UC Riverside.
