Health for All Act Officially Introduced in California State Senate!

February 14, 2014

California Partnership is proud to be working with Senator Ricardo Lara to ensure that no Californian is left out of health care reform because of their immigration status. We joined Senator Lara at Clinica Monseñor Oscar A. Romero – Boyle Heights today at 12:00 PM to unveil the Health for All Act!

The Health for All Act (SB 1005) will create a public health exchange like Covered California that will offer the same premium subsidies and cost-sharing reductions that they would receive if they weren’t excluded because of their immigration status. The Health for All Act will also ensure that people who are eligible in every way except for their immigration status will receive Medi-Cal.

We believe that health care is a right and excluding people based on their immigration status is wrong. Affordable access to health care for all can significantly reduce the rates of poverty in California. We are proud to be at the forefront of this fight and we hope that you can join us to pass the Health for All Act
