Work With CAP

California Partnership is hiring a SSI Statewide Coordinator based in the Bay Area to coordinate, facilitate and engage coalition building community organizations and strengthen CAP’/CA4SSI’s network in California. The SSI Statewide Coordinator will be responsible for carrying out advocacy work with anti-poverty community leaders for both SSI/SSP policy and budget advocacy and advocating for sustaining our safety net programs.

California Partnership (CAP) is an economic justice statewide coalition of low income, people of color and community-based groups, organizing and advocating for the policies and programs that work to reduce and end poverty. CAP’s mission is to engage in state and local budget advocacy and identify revenue solutions and organize to build power and leadership among low-income and people of color communities by strengthening our voice and collective power to advocate for the policies that affect our lives the most through grassroots organizing, convening partners, and providing community education.

Over the years, CAP has spear-headed exciting campaigns to develop electoral power in low-income communities, give voice to local communities in creating a more just state budget, and build a movement for health care for everyone. California Partnership has member organizations across the state and is organized in San Francisco, Oakland, San Jose, the Central Coast, portions of the Central Valley, Los Angeles, San Bernardino, and Riverside.

Californians for SSI (CA4SSI) is a coalition of anti-hunger, anti-poverty, aging, disability rights, housing groups, and others that have come together in response to an emergency situation in which over a million older Californians and people with disabilities are teetering on the edge of survival due to cuts made to make up for California’s budget shortfall in 2009.
